------------------------------ CLAYTON ROAD AGAIN Music by Willie Nelson Lyrics by Barry Silverblatt Clayton Road again, Can’t wait to get on Clayton Road again, Drive straight from Brentwood up to Hanley if you can, Can’t wait to drive on Clayton Road again. Oh, the Peppers Queen, Won’t someone tell me what’s a Peppers Queen? --I know the King’s a guy named Lowenstein, Oh, someone tell me what’s a Peppers Queen? [Bridge] Clayton Road again, We thought the smoking porch was really an entitlement, --We’re much wiser now, We’ve got a website and it’s thanks to David Eidelman. Clayton Road again, Those Howard Johnson’s clams’ll make you sick, But then some Redwood sauce’ll fix you up real quick, Can’t wait to drive on Clayton Road again. Oh, the Depo crowd, We did the twist and played our music loud, We drove our parents and our teachers ‘round the bend, Can’t wait to drive on Clayton Road again. [Bridge] Oh, the Talent Show, We sang off-key and danced so gladly, --How were we to know, That all those leotards would make us look so badly? Clayton Road again, I just don’t recognize a single soul, How did these other people all turn out so old? Can’t wait to drive on Clayton Road again. [Coda] And 45 years kind o’ came and went, So thanks to Richard for this swell event, And Brucey Limberg still looks pretty hot, And Kornblet ain’t got nothin’ left on top, And Jim O’Brien really is a cop, And Smith & Janet are a mom & pop, And Bobby Geske’s got a Ph.D., And Eastman’s married just as much as me, And Hendin, he’s still got that silly grin, And Greenberg’s wond’rin’ “Will this ever end?”, Can’t wait to be on Clayton, Can’t wait to get on Clayton, Can’t wait to drive on Clayton Road again.
Nick Tagos says: Well, I waited until the last minute, because I had hoped to be able to attend....Unfortunately, I won't be able to....yeah, I'm still alive, but am right in the middle of prophylactic irradiation of my brain.....this type of lung cancer (small cell) is the most virulent, and almost always metastasizes (spreads) to the brain....there is no way that I can interrupt treatment to come to the reunion. All The Best, Nick Tragos |

Rhoda Watel is no longer missing, and she came to the reunion! Janet Burdick (McGehee) just sent in her profile which includes great photos of her, her family, and auto racing photos! Bob Olsen sent in his profile, which was just posted. Nick Tragos just sent in the note on the left about his illness. Judy Pelot (Vitt) will not be able to come to the reunion, according to Janet McGehee, who spoke to her. Judy will be in L.A. visiting one of her daughters. Jane Witherspoon told Richard she will not be able to come to the reunion because she just landed on the Irish Coast after sailing across the Atlantic in April and May. Nancy Flexner (Brown) says Myrna Sachs tracked her down, and although she wanted to come, she had other commitments she couldn't change. She is working on her profile. She said she saw Jim Bryant in Chicago many years ago, where he was a sportswriter. Karen Friedman (Berger) says she won't be able to come to the reunion after all, and sends her regrets. Judy Kelvin (Miller) spoke to Norma McKinney (Walker), who is married and lives in Garden City, New York. Carol Hirsch (Gray) says that her son, Lucas Gray, directed a piece from the new Simpsons movie, which appeared on the Jay Leno show on Tues, July 24th. To see it, CLICK HERE. Ilan Chabay, currently living in Sweden, sent his CV as a profile, along with some photos and personal information at the end. Quite impressive. He said....
I am sorry that I will not be
able to attend the reunion. I am in Aspen, CO
now, then will be in DC for a week, but will be
returning to my current home in Sweden by August
2. Once I return to Göteborg, I will be caught
up in my usual, unrelenting whirlwind of
activities as professor of public learning and
understanding of science at two universities in
Göteborg.
Please let me know if any of you are coming
to Europe and have a chance to visit us in
Gothenburg (Göteborg) in the southwestern part
of Sweden. We just bought a house in Göteborg,
the second largest city in Sweden, in the midst
of the beauty of the sea, archipelago, forests,
and cultural richness of this city. It is an
easy trip from many places in Europe and
remarkably cheap on several discount airlines.
In fact, I am looking forward to a visit in
early August from Jerry Gollub and his wife.
Jim Stern says he and his wife Jan plan to attend the reunion. Robin Blives (Creager) says she will not be able to attend because she already has two trips planned for August. Gary Mass says "My wife and I will be in Halifax, Nova Scotia during the reunion. I wish everyone well." Stu Mandel, Jeri Olian (Pollyea) and Janelle Platt (Hollis) have all RSVP'd to the reunion, bringing the number of attendees up to 51! (vs. 46 two weeks ago). Iris Greenberg (Kite) says she is coming to the reunion as a result of the pressure from e-mails she has received! Toby Simon says he appreciates all of the work being done, but he has business commitments that will prevent him from coming. David Fulton said he is coming to the reunion, and so is Terry Atherton. Dick Heyman said he and his wife Ann will not be able to attend because he has an obligation to be in Madison since he now teaches at the UW Law School. Cathy Lamont (Petke)said she will not be able to come after all. I was looking forward to coming to the 45th reunion; however, our plans have changed. Twenty-five years ago, my husband Rudy and I founded Tisza Ensemble, a Hungarian folk dance group. On September 15 we will be holding a 25th anniversary celebration. We are bringing a band down to Washington from New York and are expecting as many as 200 people for a dinner, a dance, and an after-party.. We have to do the majority of the preparation this month and next, since in September I'll be starting the school year, and Rudy will be going into his busy season at work.
Don Wilson says he's in! Bud Robyn says, "Richard, unfortunately I won't be able to participate in the reunion. Please give my best regards to my fellow classmates." Ken Morgens tells Richard, "I must repair to the "regrets" list. I know you will all have a great time. Be sure to tell Iris how flattered I am that she named a son after me. Also, I have a novel to send to Gail. Maybe we could deluge her in books. It doesn't sound like she has a Borders, and she may need a few in the coming months. Thanks for all the work you are doing. Jane Witherspoon and her husband, Brian, just completed their (as in just the two of them) crossing of the Atlantic on their sailboat Pilgrim.
Susan Anderson says "it doesn't look like I will be attending the class reunion. I have customers coming to the lake house for that week-end. Maybe the location can be switched to the Lake of the Ozarks !!! Here is some info on my last 31 years in the business world. www.aboveallpersonnel.com Would be fun to see so many, because very few have kept in touch. I will be looking at the outstanding web page that was set up to see who will be attending and what I will be missing."
Penny Cuninggim
says "I
wanted to let you all know how sorry I am that I
cannot come to the August reunion to see classmates
from '62. I will just be getting back from a July
vacation and must be at work. If you are interested
in learning a little bit about my place of work you
can go to
www.neari.com and learn something about
what we are doing with kid treatment and special
education these days. Melanie Brick (Weaver) said she is attending, and Doug Sprouse and his wife Kay plan to be at the reunion.
Myron Mandel sends his regrets and says "Due to my wife's illness, we will not be able to attend the reunion. I would like to send my love and regards to all. God Bless you and stay well"
Al Kristal, and his wife Deborah, who live in Boise, Idaho, plan to attend.
Mark White wrote and said he didn't realize he was missing, he lives in Chicago, and is hoping to come with his wife Rita but isn't sure yet. He is a practicing CPA, and graduated from Washington U.
Sissy Kalmon (Steinback) says hello to everyone and she is sorry she and her husband Ed can not come, as they are going to be at a horseshow.
Pat Leonard said that Barry Harris tracked him down, and he plans to attend the reunion. Myrna Sachs indicated that she and her husband Myles will be coming to the reunion and she sent in her web address, which is www.gallerym.com. If you have a website, feel free to send it in to clayton62@gmail.com and I will add it to "Classmate Websites" as well David E.
Jim O'Brien has located Gail Altman, who now lives in Zimbabwe in Africa. Here is what Gail told Richard Levey:
